Two Email Templates, Two Different Journeys
Not every affiliate joins the same way, so we built two separate customisable templates:
Admin-Created Affiliate Email
When you manually add an affiliate from your dashboard, they receive an email with a password reset link so they can set up their account. This template is ideal for personalised outreach to partners you have recruited directly.
Self-Signup Welcome Email
When an affiliate applies through your signup form and you approve them, they receive an email with a sign-in link since they already set their password during registration. This template works best for scaling your programme with a professional, automated touch.
How to Customise Your Templates
Getting started takes less than a minute:
- Go to Settings in your Insert Affiliate dashboard
- Scroll to Email Templates
- Switch between the Admin-Created and Self-Signup Welcome tabs
- Edit the subject line and body
- Use template variables like {{affiliate_name}} and {{company_name}} to personalise each email
- Preview your email with sample data before saving
You can reset to the default template at any time if you want to start fresh.
Template Variables You Can Use
Both templates support dynamic variables that get replaced with real data when the email is sent:
- {{affiliate_name}} — The affiliate's name
- {{affiliate_email}} — Their email address
- {{company_name}} — Your company name
- {{password_reset_link}} — (Admin-created only) Link to set their password
- {{sign_in_link}} — (Self-signup only) Link to sign in to their dashboard
